In this work, an attempt is made to reinterpret the well-known plot, while preserving the irony, paradoxicality and ambiguous meaning space inherent to the writer.

The main character of the play is the Church Student philosopher Homa Brute who embarks on the path of “searching for the truth”, but instead falls into a whirlpool of comic and at the same time dramatic adventures that fill the storyline with a special Gogol’s flavor.

A kind of counterweight to Homa Brute is Young Miss, who is an integral part of folk folklore, the personification of mystical forces hunting for weak human souls. The spiritual duel between the two central characters forms the plot core around which all the main events of the play revolve.
