A joint project of the Sumy National Academic Theater of Drama and Musical Comedy named after M.S. Shchepkin and Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater “Romeo & Juliet”.
Two families is equal in nobility…
They from Verona, that on our stage.
They both was being in humility,
But blood on their mind in this age.
In houses of enemies unfortunately
The pair born and this is not in time.
They cannot stop the battle and deplorably
That only their death can stop this crime.
The Love with death made fate for souls of course.
Their fate and death has broken their lives.
And blood of children cleaned the blood of ancestors –
This all in next two hours on your eyes.
Mistakes of us, that cannot be forgotten,
We will make up for them with effort… Сurtain!
The detective musical “Romeo & Juliet” is an arena of passionate feelings and emotions. Excellent vocal parts, a dramatic plot, impressive plasticity of actors, interesting scenery, live orchestral sound in the atmosphere of a stormy director’s fantasy. A bold touch to the classics in a brilliant literary translation by Yurii Andrukhovych.
